Circle Launcher is another app that can help to tidy up your homescreen and allow you to store more than 16 apps per screen. As the name implies, the Circle Launcher widget is a circle (though it can also be configured as a horizontal or vertical line) that is placed on your homescreen. When touched once, it opens up a pre-selected group of apps, contacts, or bookmarks.
A long press on the icon opens up the settings menu for configuration of the widget. Circle Launcher can be set up to display either apps, contacts, or bookmarks. I say OR because you cannot set up different types to display within one widget. The app has multiple icons available to use, or you can import your own image or icon. The developer of Circle Launcher, db-ware is very responsive and is still actively developing the app. He has made many changes since the launch, so if you tried it when it was first released and had issues with lag, that has been resolved. The widgets open instantaneously on my Samsung Fascinate now. Another welcome addition to the app is the ability to back up your widgets to your sd card. No more having to reconfigure the same widget. There is a free version available in the Market that offers limited functionality versus the paid version. But for $1.37, this app is a steal.
