Launch-X Pro is a homescreen widget that allows you to add a lot of icons in a little bit of space. I like Launch-X Pro because it allows you to add apps, contacts, and/or shortcuts all in one widget. Up to 14 icons can be configured into one widget, icons can be made smaller or larger (those in the screeny below are configured to small). Fewer icons can be shown within the widget, and directional buttons can be placed into the widget for scrolling between widget screens. The widget can be configured with a background or varying degrees of opacity, with or without labels. The best part of this widget is the ability to save multiple widgets to your SD card. So while there are many options for configuring the widget to look just the way you want it to look, you can save it then and transfer it between devices or recover the widget after flashing new ROMs. Launch-X Pro is available in the market for $1.36. A lite version is also available with limitations on the number of icons able to placed within each widget.
Update - the most recent update in the market for Launch-X Pro makes it compatible with tablets and allows for the configuration of scrollable widget (alternative launchers - eg ADW, Launcher Pro, Zeam - are required for scrollable widgets).
